Raquel is 159cm high and slightly short-legged. His previous bike, even being the smallest of the range, was about two sizes large. The seatpost was completely inside of the frame and it had a 50mm stem, which does not help at all to improve the comfort of the bicycle. Her little hands suffered when stopping the bike during the descents and her riding confidence was way too low.
Srarting with a bike fitting and a deep analysis of the needs that her future ride had to fulfill, we began designing the smallest Oleka manufactured to date. Positive slooping minimizes road vibration, and the smaller angle of the head tube avoids toe-overlap as much as possible ande compensates the short wheelbase. The frame is ready for a mechanical groupset and the rear brake cable runs internally.
The 3T handlebar was chosen in its smallest size: 38cm. After checking the levers size, we opted for a SRAM RED 22 Hydro groupset with caliper brakes. Its extra power allows Raquel to brake comfortably with just one finger, and she reaches the levers easier thanks to their adjustability. This little detail made a great improvement in Raquel’s downhill skils. The Power2Max power meter build on aluminum Rotor cranks measures the huge amount of watts output 😉
The paint job, made by JL Paint, shows off a simple design based on a dark purple with cyan blue touches, without forgetting the natural color of the stainless steel.
A machine designed to race but, thanks to the plus of confidence that it brings, makes the riding hours a pleasure.
