Fernando is co-founder of Ciclos Oleka and a Equipo Oleka member, so his bike had to be a very special R953.
Designed around an SRAM RED eTap, it lacks of cable stops and the rear brake wiring is internal for aesthetic simplicity. We went for a classic geometry with an almost straight top tube and a considerable drop of 11cm. Fernando wanted to ride a 0º seatpost so we just put the right seat tube angle and also decided to go for a slighly open angle for the headtube, since the stifness of the frame allows to bet for more relaxed geometries that improve stability at high speeds without compromising the quick response of the bike.
The search for an ideal balance between performance, low weight and reliability led us to get the best components of the brands we work with, including 960gr wheels from Schmolke, ceramic bottom bracket and power meter with FSA carbon cranks.
The outstanding paint job done by JL Paint (Tarragona) gives life to a design inspired by the corporative and team colors while leaves some bright stainless steel to be seen.
The result is a reactive, reliable and fast bike that perfectly fits the way Fernando rides with a total weight of 7.2kg.
Due to technical problems with the SRAM RED eTap group, Fernando decided to swap to a mechanical SRAM RED 22, forcing the inclusion of the necessary cable stops.
Therefore Ciclos Oleka won’t offer SRAM RED eTap groupset anymore on it’s bikes due to its lack of reliability for racing.
